I've always felt that house music was rather unmanly but lately I've been hangin out with a friend that loves minimal and Chicago and Detroit....when I hear Detroit I'm thinkin ghetto tech and when I think of Chicago I'm thinkin deep dish pizza (and juke) but lately I've been feelin some housier beats. And the more dubstep that I'm subjected to, the more I'm liking something pleasant and less jarring. For this mixtape I really tried to stay calm, play long stretches of songs and fight my a.d.d. (trust me, its not that easy, I forgot I was djing sometimes) as well as my urge to play some super busy and abrasive pitched up craziness with tons and tons of builds.....okay, I guess I went there anyway.....fuck it. I've been wanting to do this forever. I've loved Devin ever since I picked up the Odd Squad CD way back in the 90's. How a guy can have 5 or 6 albums worth of shit and rap about gettin high and/or gettin his dicked sucked on virtually EVERY SONG? That is an accomplishment.
